Acupressure qigong uses self touch upon the body. With pressure and vibration from our hands and fingers we promote the free flow of qi energy, by stimulating points along the meridian pathways, clearing the meridians of blocked or stagnant qi, restoring balance and flow.
This is a very easy and accessible practice to do on yourself, at any time. It can be beneficial as a regular relaxation practice, to help calm our mind and body and to bring a somatic connection back to ourselves. It also helps to regulate our nervous system and promotes our body's natural healing and repair processes. By stimulating specific acupoints on the body we can also tap in to our body's internal medicine cabinet to help us with common everyday ailments.

These workshops are for anyone looking to find ways to help them relax more, ease the stresses held in their mind and body, restore balance and flow, find more of a connection with their body, learn effective yet easy nervous system regulating techniques, or wanting to find out how to stimulate the body's natural healing capacity, rather than reach for the paracetamol as their first port of call.
You don't need to have any knowledge of qi energy, meridians, nervous system, etc - just a willingness to explore an experiential practice on your own body as we go through the workshop.

These workshops are very relaxed and informal and there is no requirement to learn anything. We don't delve deep into meridian theory or pathways, and any theory is just enough for a bit of context at the start.
The session is mostly experiential, as you are guided through a full body routine, where you will be practising on your own body, over your clothes. You will be mostly seated, with occasional standing or you can remain seated for the duration.
The beauty of acupressure qigong is that you don't need to be precise or have to get it right, so there is no pressure on you (apart from the gentle pressure from your fingers!). The routine itself can be deeply relaxing as you start to connect with your body and people often leave the workshop feeling calmer and more relaxed.
You will be given a handout to take away with you as a reminder of the routine.

You will learn different ways and techniques of stimulating acupoints along the body.
You will then learn an effective yet easy, full body routine, which you will be able to use on yourself, either as the full practice to promote regular relaxation and wellbeing. Or to break down into smaller practices, paying attention to a particular area of the body or for when a short practice is all you need.
You will also explore several key acupoints which may help the body in its natural healing of everyday complaints such as colds, sinus issues, headaches, bloating, constipation, anxiety and mood.
We will finish with some gentle qigong movement and a Yin Yang rebalance.
